So we arrive to our site and just nicely begin to unpack and set up, when the storm rolls in
. It began with about a half an hour of light rain and the most intense thunder you have ever heard in your life. At one point we thought it struck right next to us. The dogs were freaking out!
I ran to the laundry to wash Mabel's mess, while Scott got everything else set up.
Then the rain came...... fantastic.....let's all sit in the stinky, barf van, in 35 degree heat, while it pours( for what felt like hours) but was only about 20 minutes, thank god.
The rain stopped everything was wet or damp. I was not a Happy camper by this point.
The night got better, we met a really nice couple from here and they sat and had a drink with us. It is fun to meet new people and they gave us some travel destinations to hit on our way.
Hopefully, today will be better. I deserve wife of the year and my camping badge for sure now.
So we packed up the van and hit the road yesterday in the 38 degree heat. We hosed down the dogs gave the a bucket of ice, turned on the air and drove to Wilmington(3hours). Just as we were arriving to our campground, Mabel barfs all over the back seat(fortunately it had a cover on it) and also on her dog bed. UGHHH! Scott and I were horrified, and Lola was looking at us like, "hey get me the hell out of this puke infested van!". We were only 5 minutes from our campground so we forged on. However, Mabel, who we think has a learning disability anyway, must of forgot that she had just barfed and looked around and saw food. Oh yes people, she cleaned it up for us!!! Scott and I were horrified and gagging as she gobbled up her snack.Lola is wondering what the hell is happening and I am sure she was thinking the same as as disgusted as Scott and I. Lola is definately the brains of the duo.
