The main attraction beyond the Lake of course is the Huka Falls. Now we have been burned by these so called New Zealand Falls so we didn't hike this one but rather drove out to it. Well it wasn't the most impressive falls in height, but in water volume going through it was very impressive, especially with that beautiful blue color of New Zealand water.

Our next stop was to the Prawn Farm, based on a recommendation from a couple we met at the Swordfish club in the Bay of Islands, as we probably would have read right past it in Lonely Planet without the recommendation. The Prawn Farm is the world's only geothermally heated fresh-water prawn farm. Basically they take the wastewater from the geo-thermal plant next day to heat the river water to grow huge Malaysian Prawns. It was an interesting 30 minute tour that was hands on as you can see from the pictures, plus it had a great café (the serve Prawns) attached to it, which we had lunch at.
