Benton, Illinois to St. Joseph, Missouri

The day started out so and so. Another huge storm passed over us in the middle of the night. It is so flat in the central part of America that storms just have there way around here. Right as we were about to go outside and DE-camp, it started to rain cat's and dog's, so we had to do things on the quick. And the drive for the first hour was like this too. Very little visibility - this is not fun with an RV. It was suppose to be like this off and on throughout the day but this first hour was the only bad rain we faced. In fact when we reached St. Jo's it was sunny. So I hope we have left the bad weather behind us. We put in about 7.5 hours of driving - so another LONG driving day as the next three days will be also - until we reach Yellowstone. The only highlight of the driving was passing the Gateway Arch in St. Louis. St. Joseph is famous for the Pony Express. The museum here was very good for the small size it was but the rest of the town was just so-so. It has a lot of potential but it is only half-way there.
