We were out walking to the bus stop by 7:00 am so that we could try to make one of the first ferries for the Statue of Liberty.  After a bus ride, a subway ride, a subway transfer, we finally made it to Battery Park.  We hopped right on a ferry and were on Liberty Island by 8:45.  We walked all around the island, saw the statue from every angle possible.  We then took the ferry to Ellis Island.  There was so much information there to see.  The building is three levels high and is full of information.  After that we took the ferry back to Battery Park.  We walked up to the financial area where the big bull for Wall Street is. Then we walked to the New York Stock Exchange.  There was a protest going on which was interesting to watch.  Next we went to Ground Zero.  There are hundreds of workers working on the Memorial.  We went to the Preview center for what the memorial will look like when it is finished.  Next we walked across a portion of the Brooklyn Bridge which was fun.  What a cool bridge.  We continued walking north all the way to Canal Street.  This was a long walk.  When 9/11 happened people had to evacuate everything south of Canal Street.  We took the subway to Grand Central Station.  The main concourse has been depicted in many movies. Next we walked past the Crysler Building, then to the United Nations. Here we got some food from a street vendor I had a chicken gyro and Miles had a lamb gyro. It was delicious and well priced.   We saw one of the Trump Towers.  Next we went to Trump Plaza (the building from Celebrity Apprentice)  There was a five level NikeTown which was nice.  Next we went to the Museum on Modern Art.  There are some pretty famous paintings here including Water Lilies by Monet, Persistance of Memory by Dali, Starry Night by VanGogh, and many more.  Next we walked to the Empire State Building.  We went up to the 86th floor observation deck.  We had the audio tour which was very interesting.  Just as we are going to leave it started to rain.  We got a bite to eat at Wendy's, and caught the 6 train north.  Then at Grand Central Station we transfered to the 7 train to Queens, at the Flushing stop we caught the 27 bus.  Then a Micheline's house we ate some yummy cookies, did some laundry, and watched the Letterman show from last night when we are there.  Then to bed to prepare for another big day.
