Revised and Updated (see below)

Hello, Again!

Wow, I just don't know where to begin!  Today (Thursday) was a very exhausting and exhilarating day that was jam-packed and marvelous.  While it rained when we started out, it soon cleared off and we had a sunny day with the temperature hitting in the upper 60s.  A highlight was spending time in Nyhavn, or "New Harbor."  It's not all that new, though...it was established in the 1670s.  These days it's a bustling center with all kinds of hip and trendy bars and clubs along the waterway.  There are plenty of places to hang, inside and out.  We checked it out in the morning and came back for lunch before we explored other areas of the city.  We'll write more about the day later, after getting a little rest.
Friday we hit the road again, heading into Sweden, staying in Kalmar before we visit Stockholm.  LOTS more to come!

Addendum And Update -- 2/14/14

We certainly did have a full day in Copenhagen and would recommend it to anyone thinking of going there.  As mentioned above, the Nyhavn District is a very colorful, fun place to visit, but that's only a fraction of what there is to see here.  Like nearly every other European city we've visited, there is history around every corner, intriguing buildings to see and intriguing places to check out.  On top of all that, the people are very, very friendly and helpful and English is spoken everywhere.

After leaving Copenhagen we went North/Northeast into Sweden to the city of Kalmar, en route to Stockholm.  In my attempts to use a Smartphone to send pictures and text, I messed up my email account and had to wait to re-set it when we got to Stockholm.  Because of that, I couldn't post anything from the hotel in Kalmar, but you can read more about our stay there and in Copenhagen in the next post from Stockholm.  The rest of our pictures from Copenhagen are are also in the next blog entry, as we went into more detail on our stay once we got to Stockholm.  (ed.)
