Where I stayed
Hello From The Land of Enchantment--
That's the New Mexico state motto and its capitol city lives up to it. There really is something special about this place. Whether it's the buildings, like the Palace of the Governors, the oldest governmental building in the U.S. dating from 1610, the San Miguel Chapel, also dating from the early 1600s, the charm of the Plaza marking the end of the Santa Fe Trail, the great people here, or any number of other things, this is one of my very favorite places to be, anywhere. We spent two days here last week heading out on 66 to California, but didn't do everything we wanted to, so we're finishing up now.
Great weather once again today (Friday) as we head back to Chicago

Because the historic section of Santa Fe is rather small and very popular, parking can be a problem. But each time we pulled in, we were lucky to find a place to park...for free! This included our last morning there, a Saturday, which was Community Day. We were welcomed into the municipal parking lot by a very friendly attendant and messed around in the Plaza until lunch time. As you can tell by my entries, Santa Fe is one of my very favortie spots. A big reason I love it (and am thinking about living there perhaps) is the people. Community Day or not, the locals in the Capitol City of the Land of Enchantment are very friendly and enchanting, indeed!
