Water Driftage and Li River Cruise

We woke up surprisingly early after our night of Karaoke! And after pulling ourselves together, we decided to go for a bit of water driftage! It was in a nearby village called Longjin, and was literally like white water rafting downhill, but its max 2 ppl to a boat and u have no paddles, u just hang on for dear life!! It was absolutely amazing!
Thing was tho, they didn't really warn us about what to wear, so i still had my shoes on and stuff and u got completely and repeatedly soaked from head to toe! But was still cool, they take u on a bus to the top of the mountain, give u a life-vest, hard helmet and elbow and knee warmers (did they think they were protectors? :P), stick u on the boat and push u down the first waterfall!! Then gravity does the rest! The entire time ur drifting in the midst of greenery so thick its like a wall on either side of the water. Behind u u can just see the green rise of the mountain top, and in front the river bending or falling away!
We were on the water for about an hour! Which was awsome, it wasn't too short and wasn't too long! And when we hit the end we were greeted by an army of old ladies selling cups of hot ginger tea for 1 yuan, and other unrecognisable foods. We got changed and dried ourselves (i bought a t-shirt cos i didn't have a change of clothes) then got on the bus back. When we got back we were absolutely wrecked so we just watched a DVD and went to bed. September 7th: Woke up late, and were unsure of what to do. As it turned out tho the owners of the guesthouse were planning on taking the swiss couple that arrived the same time we did to a nearby village for a cruise on the Li river at an absolutely stupidly cheap price! So we tagged along too! We took a bus to the village of Xing Ping, and from there took a small boat up and down what is said to be the most beautiful area of the Li River. And it was pretty amazing, we were just sitting there with our mouths open in amazement.
The river was pretty wide, and had a fair few boats on it, but it didn't get in the way at all. Either side were walls of green bamboo plants, and behind them vast ranges of these green pointy mountains! The chinese named them all too, so we kept getting a running commentry from the lady from our hostel saying like "See that one, is like umm liiiioooonnnnn" . They all pretty much looked like whatever u wanted them to, but it was pretty cool at some of the stories they made up. You had grandfather sitting in profile, camels crossing the river and all sorts of stuff. When we got back we got some food and did the usual chilling out. Omri and i decided to make our own Karaoke in our room, while shelley went for a foot massage. It was pretty crazy, but not as much fun as that time we went with Simon!
