Decided to head to the flea market in Chatuchak- a city just north of downtown Bangkok. So I took a bunch of Baht and headed down there. Ok. Wow. This place is massive. It is about the size of 5 football fields and literally has everything from plants to music to clothes, whatever. They have it all there. Long story short I spent the whole afternoon there and pretty much bought out half of the market. I bought a bunch of clothes, a number of paintings for my house, and most importantly some chairs and a couch! (although the couch is nowhere near as good as my old futon...i miss the old girl). But I pretty much got everything that I needed for my place it now actually looks like my own!

I also came to a realization this weekend that I have yet to find my "cheers" i.e. my neighborhood watering hole where I can frequent and consider my own. Now I have been to a number of bars here so far, but trying to compare it to what I left (the amazing and memorable Coastal Ale House and Quigleys) was very difficult. I was pointed in the direction of a number of places all next to eachother on Phrom Pom- the next main road over from ours. Ironically, all the bars on this road are named after big cities in Europe, specifically the Londoner and the Dubliner. Unfortunately as far as I looked there was no Hollander, Conwayer, or Pawleys Islander. So I happily went into both of the places and sampled the local fare. It was great. I watched a few games at the Londoner and then went to the Dubliner to watch my Arsenal Gunners get robbed of a win. The Dubliner was so good that I went back the next morning for Breakfast. The breakfast that you see in the picture was about $3.89 USD each. Insane cheap and so good. I think I am going to make this my home away from home from home. :)
