Lauren and I have started the process of looking for a place to live for at least the next 12 months. Since we found out where Lauren's work headquarters is, we have started to look for places in that area. It is a really nice area with a large Japanese population but also a great deal of Americans and Western Europeans. We have included pictures of the places that we have checked out so far and the best part is, is that they all are below $750 a month! We'll be updating the pictures as we continue to look at places. Wish us luck!

Yesterday we looked at 2 more condos in the general area. One looked amazing on the outside, almost like a medieval castle, but we just decided that it was way too big on the inside for 2 people. It was 4 bedrooms and 4 stories! The other place we looked at, and I am ashamed to say that I forgot to take pictures of it, was nice but nothing special, so we decided not to go with either of the two today, and called up the realitor of the very first place we looked at and asked if we could get it. Unfortunately someone earlier in the day already put a deposit down on it. Bummer!!! So anyways, today we are heading to look at 2 more available units in the same complex that are a bit different but hopefully we can get one of them. We will keep you posted. Wish us luck (again)!

Today Lauren and I focused on one main area that we liked and even more specifically a complex that we liked. We looked at a number of units in the same complex as the one that we missed out on yesterday (see previous paragraph). The complex is called Taiping Towers and is located in the Wattana/Sukhumvit area of Bangkok. For those that have no idea what we mean by that, it is east of the downtown center of Bangkok. Basically it is like Greewich Village from Time Square. Very nice area with a lot of comfort amenities, as well as local culture. A 5 minute walk to the left and we will be at a Starbucks. A 5 minute walk to the right and we will be at a local open-air food market. The pictures that we have posted are of 2 of the 4 units that we looked at. The last unit is the one that we have decided to go with. It is a 3 bedroom on the 7th floor and has an amazing layout. There are a number of home furnishings and aesthetic touches that we need to make, but we (Lauren) really look forward to doing those to really make this place our own. We hope that everyone reading can pay us a visit and check it out! We have plenty of room for you to stay with us! Moving day for us will likely not be for at least 10-14 days but we will certainly write a blog when we finally move in. Thanks for keeping up with us kids. Until next time...

Put the deposit down today for the Condo. We will be moving in August 8. We will certainly post more pictures of the place then.
