Phuket instead of Bangkok....

Everybody is a little sad that the adventure is over...it is hard to say if it went by quickly or slowly. When we look at pictures from the beginning it feels like ages ago but at the same time it feels like yesterday that our neighbour drove us to the airport...weird feeling. As much as we were somehow looking forward to going home a bout a week ago we now all feel like staying longer....maybe another time!!!
Now off we are for the last stop, DUBAI...we are all really curious!
Okkkkkkkkay....Phuket instead of Bangkok...as mentioned before, we cancelled our two days in Bangkok because of the political mess there and decided to stay a few extra days in the south...we had a hard time deciding, Phuket being very low on our destinations list!!!!!! The hotel was very nice, had four swimming pools and it took long bargaining every morning at breakfast to decide what pool we would go to first!!!! The girls loved sitting at the pool bars having fruit shakes sitting in the water. The heat was almost too much (about 40) and there was really not much more to do than the pool. The little "village" we were at (Kata beach) was really nothing, shop after shop of fake branded stuff and weird looking bars. All day beer drinking tourists (mostly from eastern Europe at this time of the year) walking around half naked....not a pretty sight! Phuket is definitely a no go destination for us! Can't imagine how people can stay here for two weeks!!!!! Anyway, the girls had fun at the pools, weren't really conscious of the "low standard" atmosphere all around and we enjoyed the jacuzzi in our room (technically outside, on the little patio). After four days we were really ready to move!
