Well, I'm back. After sleeping for half of my 8-hour plane trip (with just ONE movie? what the hell?) I recovered from jet lag much quicker than the last few times I've traveled over the Atlantic.
Good thing, too, cause I have to get down to business right away. I have applied for four positions through AAFES and turned my application in to NAF office (basically, sans the military lingo, it means I applied for a few jobs that will most likely do nothing to further my career but WILL get me out of credit card debt, and help pay some of the bills).
In an hour, Josh is leaving work to take me down to the Kreisverwaltung to get my visa application approved. I hope. If they can do it immediately I can stop fretting about becoming an illegal alien, which technically happens tomorrow, but they have no way to prove it since my passport never got stamped when Kat and I left the Czech Republic. The law is that you can only spend 89 days every 6 months in Germany or other EU countries. So, traveling to Belgium and Copenhagen and all that makes no difference, but I can escape to Switzerland or Eastern Europe or the UK. Otherwise I have the choices of being illegal, getting married, or getting a job. So it's all very exciting. Hope it will be dull.
Well the weather here is absolutely fantastic now. Springtime is here! It's cold in the morning but sunny and gorgeous during the day. Beautiful daffodils have sprung up in the backyard. Frau Annecke cut some for us, so we have gorgeous, sweet smelling flowers dressing up the living room.
I'm ready to become a functioning member of society again. Just in time, cause I would have to do it now, like it or not.
