Our plane for San Francisco was leaving at 1, and with the airport only about 5 minutes from Las Vegas, we didn't have to leave too early.   We went to Caesars Palace for breakfast, as we discovered we could only cash out Nicci’s winning token at Caesars (they all belong to the same group) but winnings have to be redeemed at the actual casino.   We did a bit more gambling at our 1c machines, and then went up to finish our packing.   Took a taxi to the airport, and found that it was cheaper than the shuttle and only took a few minutes compared to the shuttle which goes from hotel to hotel picking people up.   The WiFi is good and free at the airport, so we didn’t mind the hour or so wait for the plane.  We also had a little interlude watching a fellow who had misbehaved on a flight be apprehended and questioned by the police, with the little air hostess interjecting all the time.  Was very interesting, ha ha and I love that sort of thing!  We flew Virgin America, and it was a great flight.   Arrived in SF at about 2.15 and collected our bags.   When mine came around the carousel, my lock was gone, and the zips were not where I left them.  It was a little worrying, but when we got to the hotel and I opened my suity, nervously hoping that nothing had been stolen, my lock was inside the case, with a note from the Air Transport Security saying that they check random bags and had to cut my lock off.   Soooo irritating, as it was a great little lock, and we have had it for ages.   Had to buy another one for $9 … what a waste!

Took the BART train into SF, and easily found our hotel.   It is quite a fancy hotel (courtesy of priceline bidding!), but as the receptionist said when asking if we wanted an upgrade, that it is a "modest" room.  It is perfect for our needs.  Bed, TV, and bathroom.   Just the Wifi is expensive ($15 per day), so I am going to see just now if the Starbucks alongside the hotel has Wifi to send this.

Once we had stowed our suitcases in the room, we took a walk to Union Square and China Town.  I showed Nicci the little hotel that Ash and I had stayed out, smack bang in the middle of China Town, and we wandered into the little shops there.

Got back to our “modest” little room, and had a good night's sleep!
