Alcatraz and Drinking - do they go together

Yesterday we went on our booked Alcatraz tour.  It was quite windy, so we went out and bought a wind cheater (what a to-do trying to explain what we wanted!   Eventually a sweet young shopper came over and said "we call them wind breakers!"   I eventually found one in China Town, but when we got down to Fisherman's Wharf they had hundreds of exactly what I wanted, and with San Francisco on, so I felt cross with myself for just buying the first one!  Mind you, I had been looking for about three days!!

Alcatraz was very interesting.   I suppose seeing the movies, made it more real, but I think the Freo prison is just as good.  (in fact was used much more recently than Alcatraz, which finished in 1963.   We were given these headsets, and the audio tour was incredible.  The sound effects were so good, that sometimes I moved over thinking I was in the way of someone, and would jump when a cell door clanked (on the audio).   We got back at about 8ish and then wandered around before making our way home at about 9.   We feel very safe, and especially China Town being so bustling at all hours.

Today we went on a wine tour that we booked yesterday.   It was to the Napa Valley and Somata.   Really beautiful, and even I had tastes of the wine!!   I felt a bit giddy on my three sips, so just tested the sweet ones when they were offered!    Ash thoroughly enjoyed it.

We had a really funny driver/tour guide, so it was made very enjoyable.  We had lunch in Somata which is a quaint little place.   Had the best burger I have had yet.  (in ALL my four days in the US).

Did a bit of shopping, and am now home, ready to get into bed and watch some telly.   Feeling a bit tired, but luckily neither of us have had jet lag.
