Today we had to wake up at 5 am because we had to attend a 6 am service. They chanted for about half an hour, nonstop. We then went to the Royal Host for breakfast. But we went to early so we waited outside the restaurant. When we got inside we ate food like pancakes, eggs, bacon, and sausages. For drinks we drank orange juice, Calpis, apple juice, etc. After that we went to Heian High School. They gave us a tour of their school. After that they gave us a towel and bottled water. We then walked to the Hongwanji Temple. Our tour guide gave a tour of the whole temple. We got to take pictures. In one hallway there is a cat on the ceiling that looks at you no matter where you are. It was supposed to guard all the ancient scrolls and books, but it looked like a monkey. The outside scenery was very beautiful and there were people cleaning for the Saint Shinran Celebration. Also the boards were squeaky because it was an alarm system for the temple to indicate intruders. Then we left the temple. After that we went to Kinkakuji or known as the Golden Pavilion. We took many pictures and ate things. When we were done seeing the Golden Pavilion, we went to the movie studio. There were many things there. One of them was a haunted house. There was also a mechanical ninja hanging on a rope. It was pretty creepy. We all had a fun time there and wouldn't mind going back. We went to Kyoto station. There was a huge escalator and a long staircase. Some of us ran up the stairs while others preferred the escalators. We ate dinner at the station. And then took a subway to the hotel. And then we started the blog. And now we're done. Bye!
Ayari, Sam, and Kaimana J Bye. Again.

Temple
What a beautiful temple! The traditional dinner in your traditional garb looked like a great experience. How was sleeping on the tatami?

Nice kimono
Wow, you folks look nice in your kimono. The food looked nicely prepared. Hope it tasted as good as it looked. Hope you all are having fun and taking alot of pictures. The count down is on, only 4 more days till you come home. Have fun and be careful in Tokyo.

Chloe, Traci gave you an envelope for your trip. She said sorry she didn't get it to you before you left. Hope you still have money and enough clothes. Miss you.

I'm sooo jealous you guys are in kyoto!
I have to admit that last year Kyoto was my favorite place. I know waking up for the early service must have been hard, and sitting through it must have been even harder, but I hope you guys are taking it all in =) The Hongwanji temple is beautiful. Did you guys count the steps at Kyoto station like I told you to? Last year they all got different numbers. Did you guys try the Aquarius? Have fun at Uzumasa!

8th Grade Adventurers:
I'm enjoying the pictures of all of you everywhere. Hey...are some of you being a little camera shy? I want to see more of some of you. And I noticed that 'a day without Math can still have sunshine.' (ha ha) It looks like you are doing a great job of having fun, enjoying each other, experiencing Japan, and representing HMS so well. Keep together and we look forward to your return. Miss you all!
