On Tuesday morning Karla, Austin, Jerod and I said farewell to Toni.  People are dropping like flies on this trip.  It was a wonderful time but Steve Sr. was very sick and we thought it was time to keep the party rolling.  It took us around 10 hours to roll to Leah's house in Xenia.  Karla and Austin dropped Jerod and I off with the Pham's and headed to their ole homestead of Minster.  This is where the blog will get a little split.

In Xenia, Leah treated Jerod and I to dinners, desserts, movies, and games.  I went with Leah to Zumba.  It was a totally great workout that was very fun.  I got a chance to just hang out with her and her family and it was wonderful.  A special 'thanks' to Hoa who was totally the Mr. Mom every night so Leah and I could go do 'stuff' that girlfriends would do if they didn't live so far apart.

Karla spent some time in Minster while I was in Xenia.  I met a couple of her friends and they were really great.  The town itself is so quaint and sweet that I can see why she has such special memories of the place.  Mike, Karla's husband, was in Minster as was John(her son) so she was able to spend some time with them, too.  On Thursday, I brought Jerod to Minster to stay with Sue(Thanks Sue!)and her family.  Karla gave me a tour and then we had a great lunch with John.

On Friday evening, Karla, Austin, and Jerod returned to Xenia to spend the night so we could leave bright and early on Saturday.  Fortunately, we were at Leah's house for one of her famous parties.  This time we were there for a Strawberry Fest.  Needless to say we all ate too much but it was totally fun.  We played games and laughed a lot.  After the party I read the kiddos a bedtime story and went to bed.  It is always a great time at the Pham's.  My only regret is that I know that it will be at least a year before I get to hear Leah's laugh again.  Well, at least in person.

This was the end of our journey.  We got up at 4:00 am on Saturday and made it home in 17 hours.  Overall, the trip was awesome.  I can't think of a thing that was worthy of even a complaint.  Thank you to everyone who helped make this trip great and affordable.    I know for Karla and I, going to Florida, Alabama, and Ohio would not have been possible if we had to fly with the 4 of us.  Road trips,  for me anyway,  are about spending time with the people you love.  So, I officially dubb this trip a SUCCESS!
