Arrived in Darwin to start travelling down the centre of Oz. We started in Kakadu national paek which was amazing. We went to Mary River Wetlands where the buffalo in Crocodile dindee is. Hes dead now but still stands in the local bar having lots of visitors taking hi photo. We then headed for walks in the national park, lots of aboriginal art along the way, and lots of waterfalls too. Gubara springs was amazing too. The crystal clear lagoons at the end of all the hard walks defo made it worth while. We were camping right in the outback, which is strange to say the least. Sharing our food and beds with flying ants, Scorpions and god knows what else. I think i would rather not know. I havent had much sleep to say the least. We went on a crocodile cruise down the river to see wild jumping salt water crocs! 5 meters long! it was amazing to see too.
After leaving Kakadu National parl we headed to Litchfield National park to view Florence Falls. Was a hile to get there, but the rock pools at the bottom were so clear and worthy of the long walk, along with lots and lots of flies along the way! We then climbed Ubrir rock. This is where Crocodile Dundee the first film was filmed. The Nationl park is so vast, you could never see it all. We hiked to some more waterfalls in the middle of now where in the bush. Bulley rock hole pools, and Boulder creek falls.
After leaving Litchfield, we headed to Katrine gorge, which has been my highlight of Oz so far. I went on a helicopter ride down in to the gorges, and flew under the water falls. Totally amazing!! After the helicopter ride we took a river boat cruise down the gorges too. I think there are 18 altogether. I couldnt believe how big they were. They looked quite small in the helicopter!! We stayed at a campsite in the bush again too. Im defo a celebrity and wana get outta here!!
Hope everybody is well. Hope to spaek to you all soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
