Wednesday, Feb. 22 - Our friends on Sea Camp and the two boats traveling with them all left this morning for the Exuma Cays Land & Sea Park several hours away. The boat with the leak needs to order a new hose for the generator intake to his refrigerator. We elected to stay put and wait out a front that is coming with high winds over the weekend. Norman Cay is known for its beautiful beaches, good gunkholing, nice hiking and great anchoring options. According to Stan & Kathy its a good anchorage to be when it blows and you want shelter. This island won infamy as the base of Columbian drug runner Carlos Leder during the bad old days of Bahama's drug trading. A ditched aircraft almost completely obscured is located near us in 4 feet of water. We took the dingies and explored, motoring around in some of the most beautiful lagoons. We had a picnic complete with wine and cheese. The tide was going out quickly so we had to follow the darker blue water and thread our way back to the boats. At night we have all the port holes and hatches wide open and it's like sleeping outdoors. See recently added photos below.
