I have lots of pictures from Sabbath and today! Yesterday, after church, I climbed Le Saleve. Le Saleve is the mountain that the school is underneath. It was an arduous, steep hike, but the view at the top was worth it! Of course, walking all the way down was a bit rough on the feet, but the cook at the cafeteria made us a delicious supper.
Today we left early to go to a swiss chocolate factory. We drove past the beautiful lake Geneva. When we got to the factory we separated into small groups and went on a automatic tour. The tour of the chocolate making process was very cool! It began with the history of chocolate and ended with chocolate today. We saw the whole process of chocolate bars being made..and the last stop was a room full of every chocolate they produce for us to sample!
After that, we went to a cheese factory and went on a short audio tour of how cheese is made. Across form the factory there was a herd of cattle with bells around their necks. I'll never think of cheese quite the same way again. Our last stop was the medieval town of Gruyére. We walked around for a bit and did some window shopping. I have fallen in love with Switzerland. Its gorgeous green hills and pristine mountain air is absolutely lovely.
