We arrived in Goreme early afternoon and we did the usual-scope for budget accom. We knew all the hotels listed in our guide book would cost a fortune so we explored the town on foot with our bugdar on.  After about an hour we came across a very nice hostel which had many cave dorms (rooms built into a cave).  Surprisingly the cave dorms just opened - open for 3 weeks now! The place was spotless and the staff were friendly.  The place looked empty!  Each bed cost us 23TL each and we decided to stay for 3 nights.

A hiking we will go....
Our hostel offered a hiking tour in the Rose Valley for 15TL each.  We contemplated whether or not to do the hike ourselves but we heard getting to Rose Valley was easy, it was the figuring out the route part which would be a challenge since paths were hardly marked.

The Rose Valley was a huge valley located between the villages of Goreme and Cavusin. It got its name after the rocks colour of varıous different shades of rose.  Depending on the time of the day or season - these spectactular rocks changed colours! We hiked in a huge loop around the valley. The hike lasted over 2 hours.  We explored the fairy chimneys, cave houses and different rock formations.

On the second and third days, we did a couple hikes on our own in the Love valley (also known as Zemi valley) and explored the Open Air Museum which were both fab.  The Love valley is known for having these rock tall formations with a tip on the end.  Looks strange but surreal!

Take a look for yourself!
