NC Arboretum. The parkway was a breathtaking journey on sweeping curves over mountain vistas. We finished our 60 mile trip in about two hours and entered the Smokey Mountain National Park at Oconaluftee Visitors Center and Farm Museum. Civil Conservation Corps (CCC) workers were of many nationalities,including American Indians (Cherokees in this area), African Americans and many unemployed and orphaned boys from all over the USA. They built the Parkway roads and communities.
After lunch at the Little (Indian) Princess, we cruised rte 19, along the Little Tennessee River, in search of the Tail of the Dragon. Route 129 into Robinsonville led us to her

At the end of the Dragon sat Punkin Center Market. See the picture and dialogue in our photos. The owner directed us through a spectacular Tennessee countryside journey to Lenor City via rte 72, National Campground Road, rte 95 (country) to rte 70. Owners lost a boy in Afghanistan and currently has another over there. A Marine vet who loves his country and motorcycles. In fact, he has cabins for motorcyclists or those who have been endorsed by the same.... others need not apply.
We put up for the night and hit the pool. Only 240 miles today. Mark did his obligate two laps (a Richards is not designed for swimming) and settled in with a Fosters. Sara relaxed checking the tour book for Nashville highlights. A light dinner at Ruby Tuesdays with an tremendous nursing student (Haley) as our server. Yes, there are young people who want to work and are simply awesome!
