Now an old man in his 60th year, Jean says. I will reach 100 I tell her, she says I shouldn`t count my chickens before they hatch!  I tell Jean she should have counted her chickens before they voted. As far as Jean is concerned, she was seen as the Mother hen who was going to lay the golden egg, but it hasn`t worked out. Best laid plans and all that.

Liana brings us another plate of cakes, I think she is fattening us up for Christmas and is fed up with turkey and Turkey no doubt!

We have a lazy day on the beach, I am coaching Jean at swimming, from the beach of course, as she wants to represent Guernsey in the Olympics, she is doing well but her diving isn`t too good. She will have to go to the School of Diving at Old Trafford, where Ashley Young and granny bonker Rooney are running summer classes, following them letting the country down again!

After lunch I spot a Norwegian family on the beach who we have met the last two years, we have a chat with them, Mrs Norwegian lady’s name is Tova, and she speaks very good English, however, her hubby doesn’t speak English at all.

We have a Greek Salad in our room in the evening but our guilt in not going to Nikos`s taverna means that we decide to go and have just a main course. We eat two disillusioned voters and have a half litre of wine. Another half of wine appears on the house and then another but, Jean sends this back as she has yet to have the mandatory 6 pre-match Mythos.

We have a stroll and go to Nikos Bar and have a drink with Chris and Heather before another poor display against the Swedes before the Turnips play their get out of jail card and we fluke a hardly deserved win 3-2.

Night, Steve
