Every Monday night, our local pub,
Eva’s has a trivia night which Cornerstone usually attends. This
week was no different and Sam and Erika and I teamed up on team
called “Fat Kids Are Harder to Kidnap”. Each player pays $2 and
the winning team keeps the cash. This week, Eva’s was packed with
all the travellers in the area and the prize was $60. The questions
were tough as usual but we did surprisingly well, even getting the
bonus points for being the first team to turn in their paper with a
drop of sweat (thanks Sam’s forehead!)
On the final round, we were tied with
another team for first and suggested with split the cash. One of the
girls on the other team yelled “We’re American’s, we don’t
split things” and so it was sudden death. Sam sat across from the
other player and finally won for our team! The winning question was
“How many vowels in the sentence, ‘I like boobs!’ “ Sam stood
up and yelled, “5”!!!
We bought a round of drinks for the
other team and continued partying with them. After awhile, we moved
down the street to ‘Mr Greedy’s Pub’ where I celebrated with a
Long Island Iced Tea (very bad choice). Eventually, Mr Greedy had to
close for the night but let us stay. Travis came with a round of
tequila for us and then we all headed to Travis and Miette’s house.
They have the cutest little puppy named Wilby and a kitten. We
stayed with them plus two English guys and a couple of players from
the other team. By 4 we were stumbling down a steep hill, back into
town. It was a great random night but I will be regretting it in the
morning!
