Bergamo is a very special town, it consists of two centres: "Cittą alta" (upper city), a hilltop medieval town, surrounded by 17th century cyclopic defensive walls, and the "Cittą bassa" (lower city).

We'd reached Bergamo from Terno at 1420, since the weather was good (a bit cold though), we decided to walk from the railway station to Cittą alta (it took me 2 hours walk, sh*t!!!) I had never expect it was so far away, as you could see Cittą alta clearly when you were at Cittą bassa. However, it worth a while, as once we'd reached the middle of the hill, we could see the whole scenery of Cittą bassa. Such a great view! Luckily, we could take a bus from Cittą alta to Cittą bassa after the visit.

I was told that Cittą alta was a kingdom in older time, and it is now stayed by the richest people in Bergamo, where the apartments are very expensive. Vehicles without pass or unauthorized visitors are disallowed to enter Cittą alta after 7pm.

Apart of Cittą alta, in fact I find Cittą bassa not bad too. There are plenty of shops on the streets, you could find BCBG, MaxMara, Zara and etc around the corners too.

When weather get colder (minus 2), we quickly rushing back to Terno... and it ended my whole 2 weeks stay in Italy as we were catching a flight back to Malaysia the next day afternoon.
