Bryce Canyon is different again. The canyon here and the landscape are formed by rainfall and weathering erosion instead of a river running through the canyon.  The rock forms here are strange and bulbus with massive knobs of rocks or hoodoos atop of slender spires.  It's a softer landscape with curves and bubbles and weirdly patterns rock, like molten wax has been dribbled over the canyon walls.  The colour gradations are more striking here and look almost painted on with distinct bans of sunshine yellows, creamy whites, eye watering orange and soft, flame like reds.  The hikes here are pretty but they’re mostly into the canyon with similar forms.  It’s amazing but kinda samey after a while and the up down up down up down nature of the trail is getting to me.  At least with Angels Landing at Zion it was all up and then all down again.  It’s a lot colder here to, we’re several hundred meters higher up compared to Zion and the Death Valley which is actually around 80 meters below sea level.  The clouds are setting in, along with the damp and cold, but nothing prepares us for the night ahead as we head toward the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
