But way back in July, the VMF (Vehicle Maintence Facility, where all the vans, tractors, snowmobiles, ect get worked on) put on our awesome Fourth of July Celebration. The evening started with a full pig, head and everything, being roasted to perfection. But best yet, ICE CREAM. I am sure that y'all are tired of me going on about ice cream. BUT Y’ALL there was real not just vanilla, not just chocolate, but peanut butter and some how strawberry dip and dots! I am still a bit confused how they made dip and dots here, but I am not going to question greatness! Did I mention cotton candy, too?
Mixed in with the eatting festivities was a chili cookout
Like all good country fairs, we had a hot dog and pie eating competition, which worked out great for me. A friend and I had made a beat the week earlier, that which ever one of us does not loss 2 pounds in the next week, we have to pay the other person 50 dollars. So I took the perfect opportunity to sign him up for not just the hot dog eating competitions, but also the pie eatting competition without his knowledge. What do they expect when they just put a sign-up sheet in the hallway unwatched? For some reason he decided to go ahead and take part in both competitions
There were carnival games from washer toss onto the funny looking engine parts to human jinga to beer guessing. The big event was the live acution. People in the community donated various items they had. There were pizzas delivery to your dorm room, an awful cowboy skull pearl snap shirt that went for $250, box of girl scout thin mints, $32. I got myself a never been colored in Dumbo coloring book with box of crayons for $10. Sometimes a girl needs a little bit of coloring therapy. The evening end with 2 different live bands playing.
As for the zombie acployse. We survived. See pictures for details.
Love and miss y’all! My redeployment date is set for October 8th!
