Last week they provided afternoon tea in the Great Hall. There were a bunch of mini sandwiches and dessert type snacks. It was deeelicious.

Friday morning I left on the school trip for Llandudno, Wales (pronounced Klandidno). On our way we stopped in Chester, England, right on the border between England and Wales. We first went to the old Roman Amphitheatre, or what is left of it anyway. We made our way to the Eastgate Arch (with the second most photographed clock in Britain), did some shopping and walked part of the full city walls. We eventually arrived in Wales. Our hotel was right on the beach, which was so beautiful! After settling in we walked around town and did some shopping. They had a whole street of shops with random trinkets, somewhat like the dollar store. I also ate the best fish and chips I've ever had! (We went back to the same place Saturday night too haha) That night Gretchen, Lyndsey and I stayed in the room and made some interesting videos… as you can tell from some of my pictures. haha

Saturday (and Sunday) our hotel had an awesome continental breakfast where you could order whatever you wanted off the menu for free. That morning we went to Caernarfon Castle. It was so cool to walk around it and see all the beautiful views of the city. That afternoon we went to the Snowdonia National Park in Llanberis (Klanberis). It was finally sunny and warm for once! There were gorgeous mountains, another small castle, and a waterfall. We also saw sheep just standing on the side of the road! We tried to get close and pet them, but we couldn’t get quite close enough. That night we wandered the town again and just hung out in the hotel room playing games.

Sunday we got up early to go out on the pier at the beach outside our hotel. I fell in love with that beach. I could have stayed out there for hours! We left our hotel to go to Swallow Falls. They are incredible, I love, love, love waterfalls. This would be another place I could spend a lot of time. Sadly, we had to move on and went to the town of Betws y Coed (which I still can’t pronounce). It was a cute small town where we just did some souvenir shopping and got some awesome ice cream. By looking at the souvenirs, we found out that Wales has an obsession with meerkats. My friend, Meredith, was curious about it so she asked someone and apparently there was a commercial with a meerkat in it and ever since then they have been obsessed.

I didn’t do too much last week besides homework. Wednesday was the homecoming basketball game, but the other team got lost on their way here, so we had to reschedule. According to the memo we got in our mailbox, people still celebrated a little too hard that night…

Friday I went to Nottingham with Jordan to shop! They have 2 malls and other shops along the street, so we were shopping all day. I didn’t buy too much, but I have been looking for boots since I got here and I finally got a pair! They also have a castle and a Robin Hood statue, so we stopped there before we left. I definitely want to make it back there again once more spring and summer clothes come out. Plus, it is cheap (especially if you take the shuttle to the train station) and easy to get there.

I have 2 tests, a debate this week and have to write the rough draft for my term paper. If I don’t die from that, I will be leaving for Ireland Thursday afternoon! :]
