Booked a site off the A6 en route to the south of france - again we are the youngest by about 20 years and Lauren is practically embryonic! The site is opp. some sort of manufacturing base but hey the pool is across the river and the wine is great in this region... Talking of pools - Stu was stopped in his tracks and asked to disrobe of his board shorts and don a very tight fitting pair of trunks which he has re named "euro poof pants".. they are hysterical I have to say and make the Aussie budgie smugglers look the height of sartorial fashion. Why on earth they make man and boy cram themselves into these hideous things I know not! I did question the pool attendent in my crap French but she merely shrugged and said it's "the law and forbidden to wear those long shorts"....I'm sure JP Gaultier could come up with some better Great wine is this region, we sampled afew reds and had a day trip to Beaune as recommended by Walty's friend Caralyn who lives in Grasse.

Beaune is awash with beautiful 4 star hotels. antique shops and wine boutiques. We spent at least an hr with our faces pressed up against various enticing windows...I was then pulled away by Lauren in search of "la toilette" - after 15 mins of walking and then walking in a torrential downpour I came upon one which was attended by a surly French woman who wouldn't take "les billetes" but only 50 cents..with only 10 euro notes I appealed to her good nature and explained (to no avail) that Lauren la petite fille was only 3 yrs old and unable to control her bowels while Mum went in serach of change - by the way a huge pot of change sat in front of her in the form of tips..I knowt not what happened but a red mist descended upon me as I thought of dragging Lauren out of the block and with all the school girl french i could muster..sadly I shouted she was a @#$&& who worked ON the toilet as opposed to IN one, still she got the message. Lesson of the day - always carry pennies in order to spend one.

This was also the spot where we first erected our awning . After a good 15 minutes of free entertainment for the Dutchies watching us struggle with no instructions they came over and showed us how to do it . We will be eternally grateful for that as there were no instructions ( Bloody Tilshead Caravans !!! )
