Due to the weather, we couldn't get the boat up the lake and instead took a bus to Siem Reap, home to the magnificent ancient Angkor.
Up at 4am the next day to see the sunrise, which was bloody amazing- we were very lucky! We returned for omelettes, then back again to explore. The pictures say it all!
Celebrated taking the last of my medication with a few bottles of wine watching traditional Aspara dancers.
The rest of the time in Siem Reap, we took in some more temples, a butterfly garden, Cambodian food and the markets. Cambodia is without a doubt a very poor country, but English is spoken very well, and the people are lovely. We paid a visit to the landmine museum, which acts as a sort of orphanage for children maimed by the landmines. There's still 6 million landmines out there....
