Arrived in Cambodia's capital city of Phnom Penh. Driving in to Cambodia, it's easy to see the marked difference in quality of life, but still has the same charm I remember from my first visit. Ian made us try jackfruit at a toilet stop, ergh. Tastes like leaking gas, I promise.
**Friday 13th and disaster struck!!!** Paul walked into the very clean balcony door and the glass cut through his calf. The nice people at the hotel took him to the hospital, but it doesn't look like him and Angela will be able to join us for the rest of Cambodia, let alone the Wilderness Adventure. Said our sad goodbyes.
Although we were all in a poo mood now, we visited the jolly Genocide Museum and Tuol Sleng prison, where thousands of innocent Cambodians were tortured. Our guide also showed us the Grand Palace and Killing fields, and the horrors of the Khmer Rouge were told to us. Over half the population was affected by the regime, who, under Pol Pot's Year Zero regime, witness such things as newborn babies being smashed against trees in front of their mothers.
