Today we met a wonderful couple from Amsterdam. Saska and Jeuris are just passing through Banos as part of their 18 month hike around as much of the world as they can cover. We spent the morning at the hostel over breakfast exchanging stories, sharing useful travel information and talking about life. They are so insightful and clever travelers - their backpacks are a third of the size of ours! They have great memories - in both senses of the word - they have gathered wonderful experiences and they can remember them!! Fortunately for us they were just coming from places we are heading to. Lots of tips.

We decide to meander for lunch to Casa Hood, a bit of a gringo hangout that has wonderful food, an ex-pat proprietor (Ray Hood) and in the afternoons they show movies! Today we were really lucky. The movie showing is called El Secreto de Sus Ojos (the secret in her eyes) a film from Argentina that Saska had already seen and gave rave reviews. The movie had subtitles and was a wonderful suspense thriller. Well acted, easy to follow. We sat, ate, drank and enjoyed for the afternoon. It was dark by the time the movie had ended. It was a great way to spend the day especially for Jake, who continues to recover.

We all returned to the hostel and agreed it would be a great night to soak in the hot springs. Jake went back to bed and I tagged along with Saska (and her beautiful body) and Jeuris to the baths where we soaked and then walked into town for a night feast of sandwiches. Aaah the lazy Sunday!
