We took the 3 and a bit hour bus to Vang Vieng early in the morning so it was about lunch time when we got there. This town is like something out of the Costa del Sol but with asians in the background instead of spanish. Pretty much all sense of Laos culture has left this town and in return the place has been filled with drunken and high 18-20 year olds on holidays on Daddys credit card after finishing school!
the main attraction of thetown is "tubing " - going down the mekong river over the course of a couple of Kms on the inner tube of a tractor tyre. Though it's good fun and relaxing the amount of stupid kids took away from the experience. We planned to only stay 2 days but ended up staying another as Sarah sucommed to the beginning of the Laos stomach bug that would follow us for most of the next 2 weeks. The place wer were staying in had a tv playing episodes of Friends from sunrise to sunset everyday! - all in all a nice place to visit for a very short time but leave your I.Q. out the window
