We took a bus from KL direct to Cameron Highlands, and as soon as we arrived we knew we would like this place. The temperature was just like home, the place was just surrounded by green. The hostel we booked with picked us up from the station and i must say the hostel was excellent and the staff so friendly and accomodating. The room was spotless. We still can't get over the not wearing of footwear inside of building but if that's the done thing then we'll go by it.
When we arrived we booked our tours for the foolowing two days through the guesthouse and then went straight to bed to make up for the insomnia in KL.
That evening we ate down the town with an English girl we met at the hostel. Rowan you would have loved the stories she was talking about, most of them had to do with lesbians! I have to say the Indian food in the Cameron Highlands was amazing, the best Tandori Chicken and Murtabaks we've tasted yet.
Next morning we had a lyin and then took a tour to see a native tribals village and were shown how to shoot darts with a blowpipe. Sarah couldn't hit the target but i was a natural! We were brought into the tribal huts and met the tribe and were offered coffee and what was like a root potato which is their stable diet food. The people were so friendly but so small. Sarah towered over the male head of the tribe. That evening we flaked out and watched movies in the Hostel.
Next morning we had an early start and were picked up to go on our half day tour. We were brought first to a rose centre with hundreds of varieties of flowers then we were brought to a strawberry farm and sampled there. then we were brought to the Boa tea plantation to see how they harvest the tea, process it and prepare it for shipping worldwide. We sampled Boa Gold Blend and some tarts there. Next we were brought to a butterfly farm and fair dues to Sarah she conquered her fears and went inside. IN there apart from the thousands of butterflies the had a whole range of animals some you could hold and others you couldn't. We held a beetle that was almost the sixe of my hand, a gecko (a type of lizard) and a few other. Next we were brought to a honey bee farm and the local markets.
That evening we were again exhausted and had an early one. Next morning we headed to Penang
