So we arrived in Melbourne and got the shuttle to the hostel, Cooee Backpackers hostel. The hostel was really nice and full of Irish people straight off the plane looking for permanent work. All their stories were the same, let go , no work at home.
We started looking for jobs and accomodation, i sent out about 20cv's and got called for 1 interview but that didn't produce anything. the houses we went to look at in our price range were all out in the sticks so to speak about an hour from the CBD of Melbourne so we sttarted to get bummed out a bit. We had a long hard think about our finances and just exactly what we would be doing in Australia till January, and given that we were spending close to a grand a week on living expenses we came to a combined decision that we should cut our Australia time short and withnthe remaining oz money extend our time in Asia where our finances would last longer. So after 3 days in Melbourne and we altered our flights giving us enough time to do Melbourne return to Sydney for a few days and then go to Perth before flying to Singapore.
Once we had made our decision to bail out of Oz we both were back happy again, we returned to the tourist things again, in St Kildas we visited Luna Park, St. Kildas pier and the beach. We went to a "Neighbours" night and 3 of the cast were there including Dr. Karl and his band - who were actually pretty good.
Spent another day seeing the sights in Melbourne CBD then we flew back to Sydney. - We much prefer Melbourne to Sydney!
