We walked into town from the hostel early but it was already a really hot day. Got the ferry from Townsville to Magnetic island and from there we hired a Moke! ( for those of u that don't know what that is it's like a golf buggy with a mini engine in it and looked like a very low down and miniture jeep. The machine was about 20 years old and it's handling was radical with non existant brakes but was cool. Fuller and i took turns driving. We drove from Nelly's bay to Horseshoe bay and then to the Bungalow Bay wildlife park where we got to hold a crocodile! Sarah held a Koala and then we all held a python - the latter none of us really liked but i'll put that down to St. Patrick!
We had dinner on Magnetic island which was lovley and then got the ferry back to Townsville.
18th
Got the shuttle to the bus station in the morning and the greyhound driver was a complete ass, a grumpy fecker with a serious chip on his shoulders - it actually reminded me of the famous person that used to be in swords depot. Anyway the grumpy guy was annoyed that the previous driver hadn't cleaned out the driver's seat before the deriver change and he wouldn't let anyone on board until he removed the rubbish. He threw the rubbish out the door even thought e bin was yards away, and the plastic bottle hit me.I had to bite my lip not to intervine and teach the git some manners but instead we just laughed it off. Two girls behind us were giggling two so we srtarted talking to them and apparently they had spotted us the previous day on Magnetic Island. Their names were Tamlyn and Liz from London and as events would unravel played a key part of Fullers trip with us!
Eventually we were allowed on the bus and we headed to Airlie Beach!
