Dear Friends and familiy,
My time in Ukarumpa is winding down, and I am about to begin the next stage of this trip. My parents and I will be travelling to Bougainville for the New Testament dedication of some dear friends of ours, Roman and Caroline Hostetler. I am very excited about this, because we have known the family and have been following their work since Dad and Mom came to PNG in 1979. In fact, when I was about fourteen, we were able to visit their village. I know some of their Papua New Guinean co-translators, too, and am looking forward to seeint them again. Plus, Bougainville is absolutely gorgeous!!
It has been so wonderful being in Ukarumpa. Today I had time to wander, smelling in the familiar dust, smoke, kunai grass, ..
While in Ukarumpa, I have been able to write a number of stories and poems. My communications team is a lot of fun, and I am glad to have been able to work with them. Steve (who I went to Namiai with), even did a for-fun video clip on how to make a mumu (a traditional feast steamed on hot stones in the ground) which featured me :o).
Thanks again for your key roles in praying for me and enabling me to come on this trip. What a blessing you have been in my life!
Please enjoy the pictures. I put up 15 a week or two ago, and hope to get up some more tonight.
Lots of love,
Sarah

. ahh. I took lots of pictures, as well as worked at once again fixing this beautiful place in my memory. How I will miss it. Each time I return I realize how much this place, these people, and the work of Bible translation is a part of my heart. While in Ukarumpa, I have been able to write a number of stories and poems. Stories to tell
Hi Sarah,
glad to hear you are enjoying your time in PNG! Great pics! You will be happy to know that I had a chance to interview one of the ladies who went through diaconal training here in Haiti, and then wrote her story for a Christian Reformed World Missions journal! :) That sure was fun. May God continue to use you and your love for people to glorify His name!
In Christ, your sister, Jenny
