Luang Prabang is a beautiful, quiet city that has a very strong French influence. This influence is reflected both in the architecture and the food. The restaurants are amazing. Seriously, I looked forward to every meal.
The night market is really great. It has tons of cool stuff for really cheap. We ate at this vegetarian buffet for 70 cents. The second night when we went there, someone discovered a roach in one of the bowls. Luckily, I had already eaten. Other backpackers just didn't ate around that particular dish. I bought a few pieces of jewelry and a few t-shirts.
During the day, we (me, Becky and Theresa) went to a huge waterfall. It was probably the prettiest one I have ever seen. We went for a swim which felt so great. When we got back, we ran into some young monks. We talked to them for a bit which was really nice.
Overall, Luang Prabang has a nice laidback vibe.
