Kuala Lumper is a shoppers dream come true. It has the biggest malls I have ever seen. When I say big, I mean more than 10 stories tall. The one directly across from my hostel was about 8 times the size of St. Matthews Mall in Louisville. It also had the world's largest indoor amusement park along with a massive arcade, twenty lane bowling alley and a huge theater. On my way to the Twin Towers, I passed three more malls that were just as huge. One thing that I noticed is that there are big open areas on the ground floor that allow for promotions or performances. In one mall, I was able to watch a famous Malaysian singer perform in front of tons of screaming fans. In another one, I was able to watch the Sisley/Benetton fashion show. Another bonus about these super malls is the fact that they have restaurants that I miss from home (EX: Friday's and California Pizza Kitchen). Also, one of the malls had a huge supermarket that carried my favorite candy bar ever, Reese cups. I haven't had one since I left home and it made me so happy Largest Indoor Amusement park

I stayed at a really nice hostel, Equator. It was in a great location (close to the monorail and a huge mall). I went out to eat with my Norwegian roommate. I accidentally ordered a salad. I ate it before thinking of the risk. It was absolutely wonderful and luckily I didn't have any repercussions. When we got back, the owner of the hostel was hosting an impromptu barbecue. Even though we were stuffed, we couldn't resist the wonderful chicken with a peanut sauce. She also cooked rice wrapped in banana leaves. That was also delicious. I met some boys from Wyoming who were really funny. The just arrived from Papua New Guinea where one of them had Malaria. I really hope that I don't get really sick like that. I have a feeling if I did, I would probably be on a plane back home. I don't think I would "tough it out" for a month like he did.
