The layover until our flight to Bali is 18 hours, total, so we are hanging out in the airport until 6 am; the very helpful guy at the coffee bar politely informed us that no, there wasn't normally anything to see in Singapore at 1:30 am, and did we realize it was a Tuesday? A gentle reminder that just because we are awake and ready to experience a different country, the people who are the daily residents have a normal schedule.
Phil and I spent the part of the flight that I wasn't sleeping (ok, so it was only like 5 minutes of consciousness) discussing the things we forgot to do, which was a wonderfully short list due in large part to all the help we got in the days (and hours!!!) before leaving. That said, sorry, Anthony, that I forgot to return your bankcard. Assuming my sister hasn't embezzled all of your money, my parents will send it to you. Hell, they will send it to you even if she HAS embezzled all of your money, and you can use it as a bookmark or something.
Thanks to everyone who sent us encouraging e-mails so far (thank you, gisele; you are a gift to my soul) and we will try to keep you updated on our path. Our flight to Denpasar, Bali (go put a pushpin on the map, Riley!) is only a couple of hours long, so the long transport part is over. And we will have a hotel to go to in Denpasar when we arrive, so it's ALMOST like a package tour (stop laughing and start praying for the health and well-being of my stomach...)
