So arrived at Townsville at about half past midnight. The key was being left for us, I had half an idea it would be half inched before we got there. We did find it, however finding our room was another matter. the instructions said it was on the ground floor, about 10mins later we found it on the first floor... they must have been new on the job. All we can say about the Globetrotters backpackers on Palmer Street, Townsville is that it is a complete 5H1T HOLE!
We decided to get out early the next morning and go explore. We found ourselves on the Catermaran over to Magnetic Island ..... The trip over was great fun. We watched all the tourists hanging off the side of the boat as it cruised over at speed. Donovan and I knew what was likely to happen so placed ourselves just behind the glass screens... about 5 mins into trip the boat struck a wave just right and everyone hanging off the sides where drenched ... he he he!
Maggie Island was pretty nice. It'd be nice to have a long weekend there. We pretty much drove round the Island looking at all the bays. We fed the rock wallabies by Geofrey Bay.
When we got back we wandered down the strand and found this cool little water park for the kids....
We found a very lovely bar over looking the sea, which is where we will leave you as we enjoy the sun setting and a couple of large glasses of wine :-)

Rock Wallabies
By far the nicest beach was at the top at Horseshoe Bay. Lovely little beach and the bay is slightly sheltered from the elements... however we still couldn't hire jet ski's as it was too rough :-(

Seriously why can't we have this kind of stuff in the UK ... OK it would only be used for a few months of the year and probably vandalised within 5mins of being put there! We found a very lovely bar over looking the sea, which is where we will leave you as we enjoy the sun setting and a couple of large glasses of wine :-)
