Still going.....
Entry 3 of 12 | show all | print this entry |
Well yes, I am still going. I´m really sorry but I´m a bit behind with me ´map pins´so when you look at the map it only says I´ve been to a couple of places...which is of course is rubbish!!! Just to keep you on track, and me, so far I´ve been to BA, Puerto Madryn, Rio Gallegos, Ushuaia, El Calafatte, El Chalten, Bariloche and now I´m back in Buenos Aires (34 degrees by the way), on my way to Puerto Iguaza to see the falls. Don´t know what it is about BA, but I always end up in hideous hostels and a dodgy pc keyboard??!! Still, not complaining, it is an amazing city. Went to a Tango show last night, it was a bit posh so had to dress up (missed my sparkly shoes). The dancing was amazing and they sat me right in front of the stage so I could even see the cut of their pants!!! Sat next to a lady from Spain, who told me she was in Buenos Aires the day Peron came to power....and described what the aptmosphere was like, very interesting.
Right, well, where did I get to on my last blog?? Oh yes I was in El Chalten, about to climb Mount Fitz Roy. Blimey it was completely awesome.....flippen knackering getting up there...but well worth it. When I got to a view point, it really did knock me sideways. It just looked so unreal, like something out of a movie. I sat there just looking at it for yonks and yonks with my mouth open (you can just imagine how attractive I looked). Anyway, walked round a lake and then walked back down and slepted for about a week!!
After that, I left El Chalten and took a bus up to Bariloche (took two days), had to stop over at a small town called Perito Moreno, just for the night before carrying on to Bariloche. God, you should have seen the hotel I was staying in, ´Hotel Belgrano´....it was something out of Faulty Towers.....loved and hated it at the same time, if you know what I mean?
Spent four days in Bariloche, chilling and doing some activity type things. Went on an all day horse trek up in the mountains....wow, a truely truely great experience, and included a barbeque. My horse was a bit speedy and kept sort of ´going off´, but being the experienced rider that I am ofcourse, I was in control at all times.....yeah right!!! Had a very sore behind by the end of it, but really loved every minute....thanks Mum and Dad for making me take those horse riding lessons years ago, I knew they would come in handy one day. Anyway, also spent a day multi-treking in the Nahuel Huapi national park, around Cerro Tronodor. Went to Los Cesares and Los Nalcas waterfalls and the black glacier. So all in all quite an active few days. However, Bariloche is also famous for it´s chocolate shops....so I had to partake a little bit, I´m afraid. Having said that I was quite restrained and only consumed 2 tons of chocolate instead of the usual 4!!! I was influenced strongly by an english guy called James who convinced me that chocolate in Bariloche wasn´t like normal chocolate and infact was very good for you, therefore the more you ate the healthier you became????.....God, I really will believe anything, won´t I??!!!
Well, that´s it for now, until next time....sorry still no pictures!! By the way, did I mention I haven´t worn makeup in 5 weeks!!!!!!!!!!! Well to be honest haven´t really needed it, what with this healthy, gorgeous tan I´ve developed!! xx
