While in Kennesaw, back in August with the gang I had met in Brazil, I had met a young man that worked with friend Jessica and we really hit it off.
Since leaving there we seemed to stay in touch and I found myself coming back to visit him after leaving New York..
After I had booked my bus ticket back to Georgia, it turns out that he had made plans of his own- to head home for a few days to see his family, meaning we wouldnt get to meet at all.
Slightly disappointed I shrugged it off with an 'Oh well, it will still be nice to see the original gang instead' when the conversation turned and I found myself agreeing to go with him to meet his family in Blairsville!

Ok. At this point, lets fill in some details.
'His' name is Travis.
He is a bit lovely.
And he is.. 23!! (I have NO idea how this number has followed me this year (having had fling with 23 year old Gustavo back in March). I have to say I do not actively seek these younger men out- alls I do know is beggars cant be choosers and you gotta get it where you can.. ...
Anyway.. the idea that I should go and meet this guys family after knowing him for such a ridiculously short time was weird and random to say the least.. and maybe thats why I agreed to go. EVERYTHING about this trip has been completely unplanned and random and I have almost learnt to trust that the more random it is, the more I can trust it!
Travis also.. lives in a trailer- some may judge but it brought back brilliant memories for me of our caravaning trips as kids, where you could transform a table and seating area into a bed for two (BRILLIANT!). Anyway, the one he lives in here is HUGE, with 3 double bedrooms and one even en suite - Who'd have thunk?!

Anyway, back to ma story. I arrived at the bus station early and nervously sat there wondering what the HELL I was doing when he pulled up in his truck and whisked me off to his Mum Karens house.. Well, I SAY 'Mum', Karen is actually his EX-step Mum but brought him up before she and his Dad, Terry, broke up 6 years ago. She now lives with Kim, an old friend of Terry.. (suppose it is worth noting that this is a REALLY small Southern town. Do try and keep up, it doesnt end there!)
The lake in blairsvillle
So, we chilled out at Karen & Kims and went for lovely drives in the gorgeous lush greenery of this sleepy dry town. We went to the lake, and met lots more family- Dad Terry, his girlfriend and her daughter, Travis' sister and then a wonderfully dear man they call Old Pa Bill who isTravis' Grandad-(well, actually Travis' EX step mums, EX step father but hey, I wasnt gonna knit-pick (I actually couldnt if I wanted to spending most of the time cross-eyed with how they were all intertwined)..
As confused as I was as to the hows and wherefores of all this extended family , they were all wonderful people who welcomed me into their trailers with open arms and toothy smiles (though sadly no moonshine!)

We spent 4 days in Blairsville before Travis had to return to Kennesaw for work. It was a great week and while Travis worked, I chilled out with the others I knew in town. It was all cute and easy and exciting.
Once again, time flew by and I was now leaving this cute man behind for Brazil.
I have to say, I left this guy once before, but leaving him again this time was a lot harder.
It had been great to feel close to someone after being single for 8 years and we had fallen into each others groove effortlessly.
This was a sad goodbye.
