We left Ottawa last night, with the intentions of getting to Hawkesbury, ON, but in searching for an evangelical church to attend (in very Catholic country), decided to turn off to Alexandria, ON. Our GPS took us straight to Marcou Road Bible Church, except that at the announcement, "You have Arrived," we were dismayed to see there was no church!
In faith .... (I think that's what it was ...), we kept driving. A few hundred meters further, we could see the steeple of a church. Are we ever glad we kept on instead of turning around. We parked on the parking lot for the night and got up in time to attend the 10:00 a.m. Sunday School.
Truly, no matter where you are, the bonds of Christ are strong. We felt so welcomed and at home here, and although Pastor Mike tried to convince us we needed to stay here, we kept on going (but only after accepting 2 pails of home made Chili and spending and after church coffee at the local Tim Horton's with about a dozen of the church members) ..... More next time. My battery is about to die!!
