Kaya met us with lots of tail wagging, and I got a tour of the new cabin. It's really nice, really big 2 bedroom, 2 bath, and I loved the open kitchen, living room and dining area. It's a really nice and comfortable home and they have done a great job of decorating. After unpacking we went to the Headwater's Lodge for dinner. They were out of prime rib - my first choice - but the filet mignon I had was delicious. I got a tour of the lodge area and convenience store, and then we headed back to the cabin to catch up on the Olympics and then head for bed
Saturday we slept in till 10 - felt great as that hadn't happened the whole vacation. Logan fixed us waffles and after breakfast we headed into Jackson. We spent the day shopping, had a great lunch at Creekside Market and Deli, and then met friends of Ashley and Logan for pizza on the rooftop of 43 North. Next stop was the Jackson Hole Rodeo - the official sport of the state of Wyoming, the original cowboy state. It was a lot of fun, much more close up and personal than the big Houston Rodeo. One of the guys working for Logan entered the bull riding event, so that was cool to watch someone they knew. He didn't last the entire time, but did a great job for never having been on a bull before! Their friend's nephew entered the sheep scramble, and after that was my all time favorite - mutton bustin'. The event we were not expecting was the bull riding for 6-9 year olds. Some of the bulls were small, but not all of them. I was shocked to see such little kids riding those bucking bulls, but they did a good job of it.
Sunday we headed over to Colter Bay and rented a boat. Logan had on all his fishing gear - his newest hobby is fly fishing - which seemed to be pretty entertaining to several of his friends. I thought he looked pretty cool - it can never be said that Logan does anything half-way! We spent a couple of hours on the water, stopping occasionally for Logan to fish, with no luck. It was fun to ride around in the water in the shadows of the Tetons. Since there was no fish to cook, we had lunch at the Colter Bay cafe, and had a wonderful visit. I think this was actually my favorite part of the weekend, since I don't get to visit with Logan too much, especially during the height of the season.
