Our last day in beautiful Colorado, and once again the weather does not disappoint. We slept in this morning which was nice, and then went to ride the chair lift up Beaver Creek Mountain. I was very excited as I got a lift ticket - first one ever and no jacket to put it on. The purse worked, so now I have a ski lift ticket stuck on my purse - I may never take it off!

It was a much longer ride than we expected - you can't tell how tall the mountain is when you're down in Beaver Creek Village. After a lovely and relaxing ride to the top, we discovered it wasn't the top after all. Turns out during the summer the actual top was only attainable by foot or bike.  Hmmm... what to do - hike up another thousand feet or eat and relax in the shade and enjoy the view?  Relaxing won! We had a huge lunch, unintentionally - the portions were ginormous - and then found some Adirondack chairs to sit back and relax, enjoy the view and the people watching.  Our favorite was the 2012 version of Logan and Julie age 8 & 5. He allowed his little sister to play with him by retrieving the ball he was going to bat up the hill. She was thrilled to be allowed to play with her big brother and eagerly went out to retrieve balls, full of self importance. Unfortunately he only connected about once in every 5 attempts, so it wasn't long before she got bored and found something else to do. It was all very entertaining for Gary and me.

After a while we decided to head back down the mountain and go for a last walk around Beaver Creek Village and Avon. After dinner we were treated to a beautiful sunset, and me with no camera. It's the first time this week we've seen one as there are usually a lot of clouds by that time of day.

We had a wonderful time in Avon, and definitely plan to come back. Tomorrow Gary is headed home and I'm off to visit Logan and Ashley and Kaya the mountain dog in Wyoming, which I'm really looking forward to.  But for now, so long Colorado.
