After leaving Granada, I landed, exhausted, in Hann Germany. Upon arrival, he first thing I noticed was how starkly quiet it was compared to Spain. People were sitting quietly in line and speaking quietly when necessary. Quite a contrast to the festive boustrous bustle of the Spainards. a spent an hour organizing myself before catching a 2 hour bus to the center of Frankfurt. There I stashed my luggage in the train station, bought a walking tour map of the city and headed out for my first sights of Germany (never been before). I spent the day wondering amoungst the historic buildings of this clean, quiet, beautiful city, that boasts the only sky scrapers in all of europe. An hour into my self guided tour it began to rain, a condition I had all but forgotten about in the throbbing sun of Andalucia. Having forgotten my precious, umbrella for the second time, I contemplated spending the 7 euro on a new one but the thrifty side got the better of me and I spent the day leaping into Cafes, Cathedras and overhangs whenever the ongoing drizzle turned to full on showers. Despite my meteorological handycapt, I was still able to see much of the city in 5 hours before darkness fell and I found my way back to the trainstation Street on which Sandra discovered Salsa

. My flight to Stockholm did not leave until 9AM the following day and since I was interesting in experiencing Frankfurt by night and disinterested in paying for a hostel I decided to take one of the night buses back to the airport after spending a night of dancing at a hip looking Salsa club I had discovered near the trainstation. After paying the 7 euro cover and freshening up I hit the floor and broke a few hearts before meeting some gentlemenly Finns who after some dancing and conversation decided nothing would be more fun than to spend the early morning feeding me at their flat driving me an hour and a half to the airport. Not one to refuse good company, food and a free ride I graciously accepted and found myself sleep deprived, but ontime to the airport with some new international friends to boot.
I passed out as soon as my rear hit the seat and did not wake up till the pop of my ears told me to prepare for landing in Stockholm

Yay Germany!
Horray for your first little adventure in Germany! It's one of my favorite places, though it's been a good 15 years since I was last there. You and I shall have to have a nice long trip there one of these years, since I've been very excited to go back as an adult. Hope Herrang is treating you well!
