Yesterday, I watched the liturgical parade marking the end of Corpus Christi and followed it into La Catedral for mass. I did my best to fit in; to rise, kneel and mutter praise along with the rest and appear as pious as possible, but with my form-fitting dress, black leather jacket and unscrupulous pig-tails, I don't think I was fooling anyone. Still, the Spaniards were kind enough not to drive me out thus I found myself participating in an authentic Spanish religious ceremony - a lengthy drawn out parade full of pomp and circumstance followed by a short but sweet 10 minute mass the Spanish equivalent of "Yay God! First rounds on me at Julio's." Ah, me encanta Espaņa.

2 other points of interest:
1) This very moment, as I write, across from the hostel near the Alhambra are on FIRE! Massive billows of smoke are climbing into air and creating an thick yellow haze over the distant mountains. Its quite dramatic.
2) Last night, after hanging out with some Salsa amigos, I returned home 4AM to find 3 slugs (Mama Slug, Papa Slug and Baby Slug) having a family picnic on the food floating the clogged staff kitchen sink. Don't ask me how they got in there!.... Ah, me encanta Rambutan.

Well gotta run down the hill to Plaza Nueva and make a CD of my photos of Guadix, so I can feel like I accomplished something today before I start work at 8PM.
