Hi Sandra
In our quest for being sure you are well and safe we went into your email to find out how to contact the hostel.
We had already figured out it was Rambutan from the Alhambra view description and could not locate an email or phone number online (even at hostelworld.com or in the International Phone pages !)
We are quite worried now.
Much love
Mom

Sorry Mom,
I'm fine. I've just been very busy working and exploring Granada and the computer is usually taken when I have time to drop a line. I didn't think it was a big deal if I didn't check in since I went for more than a week without contact on my last European tour. I finally bought a sim card for the phone so you could call me, but the phone was stolen that night from my zipped pocket. As for the things that have been distracting me from writing you: I have seen two flamenco shows, hiked in the Apujarras (Capileira and Bubion), hung out with flamenco performers, wandered around downtown Granada and the Albayzin, eaten many free tapas, seen 3 amazing sunsets from Sacromonte (just a 10 minute walk up hill from the Rambutan) and met many interesting people. Sorry to worry you. Here are my hours, which may change:
Monday 8PM- 8:30AM
Tuesday1030-8PM
Wednesday8:30AM-3PM
Thursday Off
Friday 8PM-830AM
Saturday Off
Sunday 830AM-3PM
I have become good friends with an English Buddhist flamenco guitar player named Matt who likes to get out and do things like me. We are going to visit Guadix together on Thursday. I'll leave it to you to read about it, but it sounds great. Great photo ops. I will try to publish my thoughts on my work here soon. Tonight I am working and it is a goodbye party for a coworker so there are about 25 people here from the Rambutan and its sister hostel MakTub. I spent the day sleeping in, sun tanning on the roof, taking a 3 hour siesta, hiking up a nearby mountain/hill with Matt that overlooks the Sierra Nevadas, Sacromonte, the Albayzin, and down town Granada. On the way we caught, examined and released a giant toad and at the top we took in the beautiful landscape then studied the preditory behavior of these blue beatles attacking an ant hill. We got back just in time for me to be on time for work, where I cooked a giant stir-fry for the staff and paying guests. After serving and having my fill, it was time for a massive clean up and checking in new guests and serving beers which has brought me to now. Now I'm going to go out on the terrace and chat or join a sing along until I get tired then go to bed to start a new day. Sorry again for worrying you. Call when you want. I can't call because I don't have a phone card.
Love Always,
Sandra
