VIENA BOUND
Entry 13 of 20 | show all | print this entry |
Howdy all.. well Benny and I have made it out of Hungary.. It was a great stop over and even better to catch up with Akos, Katinka, and Nicky, thanks heaps guy for looking after us. Any way after a few days off the bikes whos names by the way are ANDRE (mine) and R2 (bens) reason.... my bike brand is a GIANT hence "Andre the Giant". and bens bike is a T 2000 so R2T2.. I know it is a bit sad but you know me and my names, and I get attached to my toys...SO off we set from Pecs. and the Balaton lakes was next on the agenda. It is the biggest lake in Hungary and not far from it is the biggest thermal lake in Europe. The thermal lake is what we wanted to get into as we had just had a 150km day on the bikes and the wind was freezing and blowing in our faces the whole day, so the idea of resting our bodies in a huge warm bath appealed to us. After another camping site that was in the middle of a public park. (we were to buggered to go looking for a place that was a little less obvious)we were up early and eager to go and jump in the thermal lakes that were just 20kms up the road. It was a freezing morning which made us even more eager to get there and jump in. Unfortunately it was not quite as hot as we had hopped for but it was still relaxing, although I spent most of my time swimming around it. from there we headed out towards the boarder of Austria. The following day we made into Austria and thought that for sure we would find a camp site that was open on the outskirts of Viena. Well we found a camp site ok, it was on a public Lake. there was no one in the office though so we just went ahead and set up camp again, wondering if some one would come and kick us out. I am sure that our time will come but it has not yet. As for now we have just arrived into Viena. we are going to hang here for a day or two and then ride up to Prague on the Green Ways (bike road all the way up there) any way that is all for now....SAMMY
