Really quick one from me to say thanks for my birthday pressies/wishes/thoughts (delete as applicable). I wasn't expecting much from my birthday this year with no-one around to celebrate with (given Steve had to work all day and we had a fresh batch of housemates during Dad's trip who I hadn't met yet) but I actually had a fantastic sunny day to myself so it was really quite enjoyable. My knees were both still swollen up from all the walking on Dad's visit so I gave them the day off and sunbathed in the garden enjoying a good jug of Sangria and large portions of the birthday cake Steve lovingly made for me before work. Defiantly the first and quite possibly the last time I'll get to sunbathe on my November birthday. In the evening I hobbled into town to meet Steve and we took advantage of one of the bars that gives away a $50 bar tab to locals on their birthdays so we both had dinner and a couple of cocktails in there completely bemused as to why they run such a generous offer when we've only ever spent $3 in there
As the sun was on the way down we headed to the lakeside for a bottle of bubbly and an impromptu campfire. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset and played with/nearly broke the tyre swing by setting the camera on timer and both trying to jump onto it before the picture was taken - we actually got some quite successful ones...eventually! The next day (also known as my birthday as it was in UK time) Steve and I lounged around on the beach eating fish and chips and drinking beer giving my knees a good chance to get themselves back on form for Richards arrival very soon when we will be trekking up mountains and the sort. If my Dad's trip was any indication though it will be my hands that get the most swollen after all the blogging that has to be done after the event! Can't wait!
Thanks again for being part of a lovely birthday - even from far away :)
Lots of Love,
Amy and Selebrating Steve
p.s thrown in some day to day photos too to keep things interesting and some instructional video footage of how not to play frizbee golf!
