One thing I am starting to notice about Asia is the differences between the Thai and Cambodian people. They not only look different with their skin complection but their food taste different as well. Thai food has a punch of falovor and spicy kick. Cambodian food or Khmer food is very bland. They have curry and everything but they do not use a lot of spices.

I ate a Terranchela Spider (Spelling??) It was considered a delicate after dinner treat and we all felt inclined to try it out while dinning with a family from the village. It was a fantastic diner made by this young family and their three children, at the end they brought out Terranchela spiders to eat that were fried of course! Honestly they do not taste bad just a litte burnt and crispy.

It has been an interesting few days amist the ruins
amist the ruins
. I went off on my own to see the temples and climb these stone steps in Siem Reap that were like a wall that went straight up. It was more llike Rock climbing at the Ta Keo Ruins and while going up I kept thinking maybe this wasn't a good idea. The worst part was the 5 minute down pour while I was at the top and then the rocks getting very slippery. Here I was over 20 stories in the air thinking OH CRAP what have I done now I have to climb down these slippery rocks. There have been only a few times in my lief that I have honestly feared death but that was one of them. All I could think about as I climbed own was how stupid of a choice that was. But we live and learn and don't do stupid things again (all though the view was cool!) But I surived and went to see some more temples and speak with the local village children.

The next day I flew to Phenom Penn with my group and the flight was alright a short 45 minutes. Upon arrival we went to Friends Restaurant for dinner which serves and trains former street kids. It is really cool because it teaches these kids life skills and job skills that will make them successful in the western world of hospitality if they choice to leave the poverty driven area. This is something I want to look into more in the future with helping this amazing organization! After talking with the kids and having a good night of hanging out with the children I felt at peace that I was actually able to make a difference in some of their lives.
